Veterans Memories offers a collection of interviews allowing site visitors the ability to look, listen, and learn about the history of Canada through the experiences of its soldiers. Contained in these interviews are compelling accounts of wartime service representing many ranks, jobs, and branches of the military. The Veterans' stories, told in their own words through diaries, galleries, and oral history interviews, teach, inspire, and inform. And they also sometimes sadden. With tales of lost lives, lost time, and lost innocence, we must remember the sacrifices they made in their service to Canada, so Canadians could be free. Touching on all aspects of Windsor's wartime experiences,
at home and abroad, the interviews illuminate it all
- from the routine to the extraordinary, and from enlistment
to discharge. |
